Letter To The Editor
An Attack on Humanity
Even thousands miles away, the horrific sound of Pulwama blast deeply despoiled our lives. We are saddened, disturbed and strongly condemn this ghastly terror attack on our country. We are so called non-resident Indians but in our heart and soul it is our identity-‘INDIANS’, and this matters to us most. Every night in our time when India wakes up, we keep our anxious eyes on Internet, e-papers and social media just to check whether our beloved country is living her life peacefully or not. It is the air where we breathed for the first time, it is the land which nurtured us to be able to do something in life, it is the home where our near and dear ones live. Yes, every painful incident our country endures - we bleed here with the same mental agony like every residing Indians do. And this is just to let you know we stand in all solidarity with the entire nation and speak in one voice against any kind of trepidation which threatens the tranquility of our motherland!
Our heads are numbly bowed and hands are folded with immense respect to the brave-heart Jawans whose precious lives are claimed by this dastardly act. Indian Military, we salute you for protecting the entire countrymen with your utmost sacrifices till last breath. Maybe we won’t ever be able to empathize the immense sorrow, engulfed by their families now, who are trying to withstand the void suddenly imposed upon them unannounced. The loss of a husband, son or father is irreplaceable, but this is to just let you know, we are there for you… not only within the country, you will always find a shoulder in all of us to lean on, around the world, today and always.
We have full faith in our security forces and concerned authorities, that our martyr soldiers’ sacrifices will not go in vain. The terror perpetrators shall not be spared at any cost. At the same moment we believe a terrorist doesn’t belong to any particular country, religion, community or language. They are basically enemy of humanity, offender of civilization. Sometimes this enemy can hide in our next door as well. They won’t attack us on the face but instill hatred, conflict and violence in common people triggering frightful revenge spirit. We should never ever forget that, protest and war against terrorism should not mislead us towards any inhuman path which disrupts the internal harmony. Let’s not point out randomly to any fellow neighbor or friend just because they belong from a particular faith. Let the entire country hold their hands against narrow minded animosity and rather channelize the energy and rage against the heinous criminal acts.
We seriously hope, that one day, the rise of positive/rational voices will suppress the sounds of guns and bombs. Without the tremendous efforts from Army, Airforce and Navy along with their families, India, could never stand so valiantly, prosper so luminously and live so freely. Their sacrifice ensures that our great nation stays forever sovereign. We owe a debt of gratitude to the soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for this cause. A martyr never dies, they live in their deeds; Their courage stimulates inspiration among the generations for ages.

Rest to each faithful eye that weepeth” - Thomas Moore
